Hi everyone! Yep, that’s me, Kirsten Austin. For those of you who don’t know, I have been involved in the software business with a focus on manufacturing, distribution and fulfillment for close to thirty years.
It’s true if you asked me as a little girl would I like to be involved in the most risky, demanding and challenging business – software, I would have said no. However, I’m glad I said yes: what I enjoy most about my career is how much I learn every day! My clients are extremely important to me. I remember many of our customers starting with a handful of regulars and a small warehouse or plant and growing into Global Operations. I remember when the Internet was called the World Wide Web. I’ve seen trends come and go. The shipping carriers we integrate our solutions with are equally intriguing. With new eras, political changes and opportunities, they come up with various services and solutions to shipping. On top of our clients, I’m lucky to have developed some long-lasting partnerships with our re-seller channel and other industry experts. Last but not least, I work side by side with some truly awesome software professionals here at DCSC Inc. Together, we work to resolve every day inventory, material control, shipping, and operational issues.
Our company started as a VAR for an accounting and manufacturing solution. Later we decided to sell and implement another ERP solution from Sage® Software. We earned two major ERP awards in 2002 and 2003. Subsequently we shifted our focus to solely support, develop and implement our own published software suite DCWarehouse Automation. This WMS and Shipping solution is implemented across the nation and beyond. It has direct shipping carrier integrations with FedEx®, UPS®, DHL®, Stamps.Com®, Purolator® and other transporters. Our solution is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our distribution, manufacturing and fulfillment clients. We also developed a stand-alone multi-carrier shipping solution, DCMobile, that allows companies to automate their shipping processes, save on costs and has advanced features to help take them to the next level.
Even though, technology is extremely important in business, I feel it has some negative consequences in people’s personal lives if not balanced. You can catch my take on this in this informative podcast, People and Technology what’s the right combo, hosted by the great team at Radwell International.
With what free time I do have, it’s relished time with friends and family, which of course, includes my fur baby (MoMo). On weekends and vacations, weather permitting, you’ll find me in nature; hiking, camping, four-wheeling and swimming make life worth living. Lots of the pictures I use on Twitter are even from my adventures!
Our company not only services and sells our DCWarehouse Solution but we also offer consulting services to North American Distributors and Manufacturers wanting to make operational improvements or assessments on their current technology environment.
Now, that’s enough about me, what about you?
