Packaging Process – you may manufacture or distribute a product that to you is the same part number or item number. However, when you ship it to the end consumer, or to a specific retail outlet or shipping location it takes on a different form. This means, the product may be placed in a different box or packaged differently.
DCWarehouse can handle that easily in several ways. The first way we can handle this is through our packaging manager. It allows you to send specific paperwork, inserts, shipping labels and additional items with the package. This is based on the originating sales order and ship-to-address.
Manufacturing Process- There also is another way to address this need. If you are leveraging the Sage 500® Advanced Manufacturing Module, you can assign a different bill of material and routing to create a simple work order that selects the correct materials, including the box or package for the final product. DCWarehouse automates the material issues and production entries of these finished goods through the use of wireless devices. The product also allows you to create a work order to back flush against if you are not nor running MRP or do not want to manually create work orders.
Shipping Process – DCWarehouse Automation has a packaging manager that directly integrates with UPS®, FedEx®, Endicia®, USPS®, DHL®, Purolator® and a multitude of other carriers for both parcel or TL/LTL shipments.
Blind Shipping Option. Blind shipments (Sometimes referred to as Ghost Shipments) are requested by distributors or Big Box Retailors and eCommerce Retailors who want you to drop ship directly to their customers. Our solution allows you to provide fulfillment for your customers’ end users. This is handled by a one-time set up in our system that understands a fulfillment order and what specific labeling, shipping information and packing list information ships with the products or merchandise.
(Example: XYZ Auto Parts ships components to Happy Auto’s customer. Happy Auto’s customer only sees Happy Auto’s name on the address and shipping label.)
