If you are a growing company and your orders are becoming more challenging to keep up, using wireless technology may be inevitable. Paper pick lists and manual in-put during the fulfillment process can leave room for errors. These mistakes can include picking the wrong products, shipping to the wrong location or duplicating efforts. DCWarehouse allows you to pick, pack and ship your products using real-time wireless technology. Many of our distribution and manufacturing clients have moved away from paper processes and implement paperless picking. We support several methods depending on their products and order types. Some of our clients use a variety of picking methods based on their operations or even a combination of picking methods.
DCWarehouse Ready to Ship
At once a trend it is more of a main stay for distributors and manufacturers to ship product directly to the consumer. They may do this on behalf of another company, such as Amazon, an eCommerce Giant.
In our Ready to Ship Process – the product is sitting in the box. Once the picklist is created (yes there are still pick lists in wireless picking which is at the heart of the fulfillment order or orders) all of the packaging processes are done behind the scenes. This is a quick way to fulfill merchandise type orders.
DCWarehouse Fast Picking
Fast picking (sort at picking) – This is an Order Based Pick. You can pick to a box, a cart, or to a pallet etc. This is used if you want to focus on getting the orders out and keeping them all together.
DCWarehouse Wave Picking
Wave picking allows distributors to support a daily work flow and make the best use of their picker’s time and location. Pickers can quickly pick products and either place them on a conveyor or a packaging location to be sorted at the packaging point. This allows you to pick for multiple orders in a summarized fashion bringing them to the package manager for sorting and shipping.
DCWarehouse Zone Picking
Zone picking allows you to assign warehouse workers to certain zones or you may only want to your products from certain zones or pick and pass to different zones segmented for certain types of orders such as cases, etc.
DCWarehouse Staging Picks
Staging picks – allows you to stage orders and add to the staged order easily when additional items are picked. This is very useful in environments where large orders are picked on multiple pick lists and need to be combined together or where both picked items and manufactured items are on an order and will need to be combined together as the products are produced or become available.
