DCWarehouse Automation Support for an Automatic Packaging Machine

DCWarehouse Automation® currently supports full integration with the 9000-18 Automatic Packaging Machine.
This will eliminate human interaction in the packaging process. This is a huge productivity improvement for any distribution operation. It allows you to process eight hundred and forty (840) packages per hour with one-hundred (100) percent accuracy which equates to six thousand seven hundred and twenty (6,720) packages in a one day eight hour shift.
This new feature automates the following steps:
1.) Creating the package.
2.) Weighing the box.
3.) Printing and placing the packing list in the box for the shipment.
4.) Printing the Shipping Carrier Labels and placing it on the box.
Hardware for the packaging machine is options based; you can configure the machine based on your required processes, your space available and additional options.
Support For All the DCWarehouse Picking Processes
This feature eliminates the need for human interaction in the packaging process from the point stock is placed in a box.
DCWarehouse supports two processes;
1.) If stock is placed in the box via Radio Frequency using the DCWarehouse RF Pick-To-Box Approach.
2.) If stock is placed in the box after the picking process, for example wave picking and other DCWarehouse RF Picking with Box Options turned off.
Easy to Implement and Use
Two steps are required to enable and use the machine after you have properly configured the machine to meet your packaging processes.
Step 1
The Warehouse Package Manager is directly communicating with the Packaging machine via PCL language.
In order to enable this functionality, in Set Up Package Manager Options you can turn on this feature and configure the integration via the SPM tab.
Step 2
Install the Machine software server.
What Costs Are Involved?
You will need to make an investment in the machine itself. There will be additional service hours to help you implement the solution, train your staff and configure it to meet your specific requirements. However, based on the ROI, this investment will reap great returns in accuracy, speed and automation.
