How Did The Idea to Write DCWarehouse Begin?
Many years ago, a prospect required a solid ERP System along with warehouse automation and supply chain management. Unfortunately, we only had a third party system to offer. This solution had a different look, used a separate database and did not accurately reflect real-time data transactions.
This resulted in DCSC Inc.’s idea to develop a native warehouse management and supply chain solution in the Sage 500® Tool Set (Formerly Mas 500) —to work as a completely integrated component of the system in real-time. Our solution’s design is based from real live distribution and manufacturing software implementation experience. Many of our features also come directly from our valued distribution, fulfillment and manufacturing customer’s recommendations.
What Makes Us Different?
DCSC Inc. began consulting over twenty years ago. Our expertise lies in Manufacturing, Distribution and Supply Chain Software Implementations. Our paperless automation software product is designed with real life experience, not marketing “hoopla”.
Who Do We Serve?
DCSC Inc. serves wholesale distribution companies, importers/exporters, discrete or mixed mode manufacturers and fulfillment organizations. Here is a sampling of the types of products that our customers distribute or manufacture. These products are shipped both domestically and internationally.
What is Warehouse Automation?
Warehousing includes all the activities related to receiving, storing and shipping materials from production or distribution locations.
What is Inventory Management?
Inventory Management is the business involved with planning and controlling all levels of inventory. In today’s economy, the better you can control your inventory by reducing your inventory investment and optimizing your ability to predict and plan for required inventory, the more profitable your company can become.
How Can You Improve Your Inventory Control In House?
You can improve your inventory control by implementing an enterprise system that effectively addresses inventory control and replenishment. The right software tools coupled with the correct implementation and business processes will do this. Effective Warehouse and Plant Managers that can implement these processes on a daily basis are also extremely vital to a company’s growth.
What About The Every Day Activities That Effect Inventory Control?
All types of factors can effect your control over inventory. One of the largest is human error. Anytime, you can control the accuracy of picking, packing, counting, shipping, moving and issuing materials you will improve your bottom line.
Why Would I Consider RF/Wireless or Mobile Technology?
Each time you manually key data into a software system, there is the potential for error. Bar-coding and Radio Frequency can eliminate these errors. Additionally, through the use of Wi-Fi technology, you can implement warehouse control as you move around the warehouse because the data collection devices are mobile. There is a high amount of risk associated with recording transactions on paper and then inputting the data into your system at a later point – letting time elapse.
By immediately scanning inventory during the receiving, counting, moving, production, transfer, picking, packing and shipping processes – you increase your accuracy and eliminate room for error.
What Is DCWarehouse© Automation?
Sage 500® is an Enterprise Resource Planning system that, when implemented correctly, will provide your company with a solid solution for managing everything from sales through your shipping process.
DCWarehouse© Automation extends Sage 500’s functionality through the use of RF and Mobile Technology (Such as Palm Pilots or CE Devices) and additional warehousing and production features.
Why Is DCWarehouse The Best Solution for Distributors and Manufacturers?
Simply put, before we developed our DCWarehouse© Automation Product we reviewed many WMS packages in the market. Most packages rely on their own database which requires an expensive deployment to interface to an ERP System. DCWarehouse© works as an extension of an existing ERP System. All transactions are validated and update one system-real time.
This means we share the same master data such as:
- Item and part master data.
- Warehouse data including zones, locations and bin locations.
- Sales Order Information including, customer, items ordered and priority.
- Shipment method and ship to locations.
What is Integrated Shipping?
As an approved UPS®, DHL®, USPS®, Endicia, FedEx ® and Banyan® Multi-LTL provider we have a completely integrated packaging manager. This allows end users to improve their customer service by offering multiple shipping rates through various carriers at the time of order entry or during the shipment process. You can package your orders in multiple boxes and track each box, order number, shipment information, weight and detailed item information.
Through the DCPackaging Manager®, you can print your UPS®, DHL®, USPS®, Endicia, FedEx ® shipping labels along with your shipping documents without manual or multiple entry. Our shipping solution does not require a third party shipping software because we work directly with UPS®, DHL®, USPS®, Endicia and FedEx ® . You can save money on your shipping costs by using our freight up charge feature which allows you to automatically include an up charge based on a flat dollar amount or percentage. Here you can find a full list of Supported Carriers By Country.
Do your customers require ASN’s? (Advanced Shipping Notification) Use our automatic ASN Feature that can transfer all shipping data to eBridge®, SWK-MAPADOC, Kissinger EDI Advantage or True Commerce ® EDI solution without double entry!
